NMR Groundwater Geophysics VISTA CLARA develops and manufactures advanced nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) instruments ideally suited for groundwater and environmental investigations. NMR is unique among geophysical methods in that it enables direct detection of groundwater. As such, NMR geophysics provides an unmatched capability to locate and quantify groundwater resources and to characterize aquifer properties. Vista Clara's GMR surface-based system and complementary Javelin logging system represent the cutting-edge in NMR geophysics. From the surface, our patented GMR system provides non-invasive detection of groundwater to depths up to 150 meters and images of water content and aquifer properties in one or two dimensions. Downhole, our novel Javelin logging system operates in boreholes as small as two inches in diameter and yields sub-meter resolution of aquifer properties including porosity, pore size, and permeability. These advanced tools, combined with our unique professional expertise, deliver a detailed view into the subsurface that can facilitate the success of groundwater managment and research operations. |
